11-Day Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara and the Atlantic

Day 1: Marrakech

Welcome at Marrakech Menara airport and transfer to your riad in the heart of the medina. Overnight at the riad.

Day 2: Marrakech – Zagora

Departure from Marrakech at 8:30 AM from your riad, heading towards Ouarzazate. With the 4x4, we take the road of Tizi N'Tichka, a winding mountain road with beautiful views of the Atlas valleys. In winter, the peaks of the High Atlas are covered with snow. The pass is at an altitude of 2260 meters. Upon arrival at Ait Ben Haddou, the largest ksar awaits you. It is classified by UNESCO and has served as a backdrop for major films such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, etc. Here, you will have lunch.

You will arrive in Ouarzazate where you will visit the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah, also classified by UNESCO. After this stop in the cinema capital, you will continue to Agdz to reach the Drâa Valley. From Agdz, you will follow this beautiful river between the mountains, lined with palm groves and magnificent centuries-old kasbahs as well as villages with earthen houses. In Zagora, you will pass by the famous "Timbuktu, 52 days" sign, an important stop on the ancient caravan route. Overnight in a riad in the palm grove.

Day 3: Zagora – Tamghoute – M'Hamid

You will continue your journey towards the largest Quranic library in Tamghoute, a village with underground alleys, also renowned for its green pottery. After this stop, it's M'Hamid, the end of the paved road and the beginning of desert tracks. Overnight in a riad.

Day 4: M'Hamid – Sidi Naji

Departure after breakfast with our guide and camel drivers to begin the trek to Sidi Naji, a sacred place where a marabout of the desert tribes lived. Lunch will be served in an oasis under palm trees. The bivouac will be set up by the camel drivers at the foot of the first dunes. A nomadic meal accompanied by music under the stars around a campfire will end the evening.

Day 5: Sidi Naji – Erg Ezahar

After breakfast, the caravan will head towards the dunes of Erg Ezahar. During the day, you will pass from flat rocky desert (hamada) to large sand dunes. Lunch will be taken under tamarisks, and the night will be spent at the foot of the dunes under the bivouac.

Day 6: Erg Ezahar – Bougarn

The caravan will depart after breakfast. You will continue walking with the camels. Lunch will be taken midway, in the shade or sun depending on the temperature. In the late afternoon, you will reach the dunes of Bougarn, where the bivouac awaits you for dinner and the night.

Day 7: Dunes of Bougarn – Dunes of Chegaga

After a night in this world of silence, the caravan will continue its journey towards the large dunes of Chegaga, passing through Oued Laatache. Lunch will be taken in the beautiful "Sacred Oasis" by a well. In the late afternoon, you will reach the dunes of Chegaga, where the bivouac will be set up at the foot of the dunes. Before sunset, you can climb the dunes to admire the panorama.

Day 8: Dunes of Chegaga – Taroudante

Before sunrise, you can return to the dunes to admire the dawn. After breakfast, you will leave by 4x4 towards Lake Iriki, then exit the desert at Foum Zguid. You will pass through Tazenakht, known for its Berber rugs, and Taliouine, famous for its saffron production. You will arrive in Taroudant, a charming city surrounded by walls, where you will spend the night in a riad.

Day 9: Taroudante – Essaouira

After breakfast, you will visit the souks of Taroudant, then pass vast citrus fields before going through Agadir and continuing towards Essaouira along the coast. You will arrive in the evening and spend the night in a riad in the medina of this beautiful port city.

Day 10: Essaouira

You will spend the day strolling through the small alleys of the medina, visiting the fish market, and enjoying the beach. If you are lucky, you may witness a magnificent sunset in the evening.

Day 11: Essaouira – return

Depending on the time of your departure flight, we will take you to Essaouira airport.
